3 Business Points I Learned from Steve Job's Stanford Commencement Address

In a time of challenge, I keep hearing Steve Job's in my head "Stay Hungry Stay Foolish". At Stanford, I know that Steve Job's speech is one that impresses me far more than that quote. But its something that has helped me connect the dots in my life. Here are three points I got from the Steve Job's comemncement speech.

Steve Job's on connecting the Dots

As I hear about Steve Job's speak of being homeless. I think of my time without a home. As I hear steve job's quote on walking 7 miles, I think of my time walking 8 miles. I hear about Steve Job's time only have a garunteed meet with the HariKrisna House. I think of my time where the only meal I knew I had was at a bar when they had free bufallo wings on Wednesdays.

"Trust that the dot's will connect in your future." said Steve Jobs in the his commencement address. Steve Job's continued "Follow you heart even when it leads you off the well worn path, and that will make all the difference." My heart is with my son and writing. I do other things well, but writing is wear my passion remains. Preferably, I love writing on a Mac; but that is another story. In this time I have been connecting the dots, As Steve Jobs states, by reflecting on the past which helped prepare me for my future.

Steve Job's Love and Loss

Starting from nothing is a challenge to anyone. Starting over after a publich failure is what Steve Job's did when he was fired from apple. Steve Job's was fired from Apple, a business he started with his buddy. Steve Job's the arrogant brilliant man whom knew he created the best product out was humbled.

Steve Job's states concisely "Sometime life will hit you with a ton of bricks, don't loose faith." I identify with that so well. I hold many people have that same feeling about being hit with a ton of bricks in this economy. Business is such that challenges happen daily and you much love it to keep moving forward. Steve Job's stated "the only way to do great work is to love what you do".
