Four Police Officers Killed at Forza Coffee in Lakewood, Washington: the Killer is Now Dead
Four police officers were shot to death at Forza Coffee shop at 11401 South Steele Street in Lakewood, Washington according to the News Tribune. The police officers killed in the attack are: Sgt. Mark Renninger, and officers Ronald Owens, Tina Griswold, and Greg Richards.
"Person of Interest" Now Dead
Maurice Clemmons, the "person of interest" in this crime has now been shot to death by a police officer in Seattle according to CNN.

No one else in the shop at the time of the killings was injured. This seems to be a targeted crime. The police officers were awaiting the start of their shifts at the time of their murders. They were doing work or reading on their laptop computers at the time of the killings.
CNN notes that this coffee shop is about 10 miles away from Tacoma and located on the perimeter of McCord Air Force Base.
Police officers risk their lives every day while on the job. They do not however, expect to be shot while hanging out at a coffee shop before their work day starts.
This ambush must be a terrible shock to the community. The entire town must be feeling immense horror at these senseless killings. The baristas who were working in the coffee shop will be traumatized, as will the customers who witnessed the murders.
The murder of these four police officers probably leaves many children without one of their parents. At this time, during the holiday season, it is so tragic to see four police officers lose their lives.

America Needs More Gun Control
This crime incident is another example of the extreme need for gun control in America. Our murder rate via gun is much higher than many other countries. Our gun laws are too lax. There are too many loopholes that allow people to purchase guns without a background check.

Gun control is not the answer! You can't legislate morality no matter how many laws are passed.

Wasn't it an early President of the United States of America who said that? "If you trade your freedom for security, you won't have (or deserve) either." They could not have been MORE RIGHT! I will give up secrity from my government in order to keep my Freedoms!
