Corrupt Politics: Philippine Election 2007
Philippines is a democratic country they say. But it seems that democracy is overused. It's so ironic to think that you can see people here fighting for a democratic country on the streets but when people with power and money act illegally no one would mind. Money to keep your mouth shut.
Working in the government offices is like working without your head. You know all the dirty games these politicians play but you just keep your mouth shut and your eyes closed or else your going to lose your job and even your life.
I don't know when this trend on election would change or won't it ever. It has always been the same. Politicians would fight for a place in the government seat. There would be lot's of killings, political scandals and politicians mocking each other. They would then visit different places bringing along these actors and actresses so that many people would watch their rally , give goods in different ways and even money just to vote for them. This is the only time wherein the common people would see these politicians until next election. When the election is over you can't see them anymore. They would even ignore you in public. They know you during election, they won't even shake hands after.
I'm just glad that the election is over. I just hope that the politicians would keep their promises and could still be found after election. After today, news would be bombard with winning politicians and the losing ones who would be complaining that they were cheated.
