Week 14 BCS Rankings Give Oregon and Ohio State a Rankings Boost

The Week 14 BCS Standings Are the Same in the Top Six Spots as in Week 13

The week 14 BCS rankings are out. In the week 14 BCS rankings, the top six teams remain at the top of the BCS rankings, with a few changes taking place after that. Florida is still the #1 team in the land, with a slight increase in their overall points that has shows a big gap between the top six undefeated teams that are still fighting for that berth in the college football national championship. The computers are still split 50-50 between Florida and Alabama, with three of them choosing each school to be at the top of the rankings, and further muddling how the BCS standings are going to shake out in the coming weeks.

The top six in the week 14 BCS rankings are in the exact order as they were in the week 13 BCS rankings, and that may serve to hurt the mid-level teams that are trying their hardest to break into that top three. With TCU (#4), Cincinnati (#5) and Boise State (#6) time is running out on their chances to move up in the BCS standings, and they are really going to need a lot of help along the way if they want to find their way into the national championship game. The 2009 SEC Championship between Florida and Alabama will take out one of those teams (maybe) and that leaves a number of college football fans rooting for Nebraska to upset Texas in the Big 12 Championship game.

For Cincinnati they have now clinched a BCS Bowl slot for winning their conference, but for TCU and Boise State it's starting to look like they are really going to need to get lucky if they want to be chosen for one of the at-large spots in the BCS bowl projections. Just below the six undefeated teams was a shift amongst some of the other teams, none of which have a shot to play in the national championship game anymore. The new #7 in the BCS rankings is Oregon, followed by Ohio State (#8), Iowa (#9), and Georgia Tech (#10). Georgia Tech still had an outside shot until they were upset by Georgia over the weekend.

The week 14 BCS rankings are out, and there aren't many surprises in the new standings.
