If someone as stunningly successful as Oprah believes this stuff then maybe just maybe there's something in it. Few people have experienced such amazing professional and financial success as Oprah and she seemed to be in tune with concepts and precepts that are spoken of in The Secret.

Of course I'm talking about the movie-mentary called "The Secret" which was recently showcased on various talk shows such as Larry King and The Oprah Winfrey show.

The Secet made a worldwide splash this past year, as people continued their search for that elusive panacea. We're all searching for that "well" which we can draw from, in an effort to fix all our problems. In my own case ,I'd settle for being able to balance my checkbook....which incidentally is a large part of The Secret....being able to create financial abundance in your life by mastering your thoughts.

The basic premise of The Secret is that we can all directly influence our physical world with our thoughts, dreams, fears and ambitions. It's certainly not a radical idea that our thoughts create our world but the central theme of The Secret is that whatever we think about the most will transform our reality.

Hold an image in your mind, see it clearly as though it's already happened, be grateful for it and sooner or later it will show up in your life.

This is what The Secret is telling us. And it's hard to argue....either way.

The Secret's methodology is simple and its theories elegant , if somewhat esoteric. But the proof of it's effectiveness is destined to be anecdotal. It simply isn't a perfect science despite it's creators claim to the contrary.

That doesn't mean that the evidence isn't compelling nevertheless.

Ask any successful person what made them that way and you'll get a variety of answers.... but there will be some common threads. Threads like goal setting and visualisation. Things like attitude and self belief. All of these are things that are wound up within The Secret.

Welcome, Andrew. I watched the web version of The Secret and it seems like a lot of hype to me. I guess the concepts are still true - the power of positive thinking is real. I am positive you are going to click on my name and read all my articles now! Seriously, best of luck here.
