Hot Movies-Not Movies: Why is Hollywood so Disappointing?

Modern Filmography seems to have this need to glamorize all the things really lead to distruction in poeple. Here a few glimpses of some modern films that could have been good but turned out awful. The Departed- The first pit-fall with this film was that it was too all-star casted. Films with all-star casts tend to be too dramatic and too cheesy. Each star has to have the "it" line that stands out above the rest. When every star has an "it" line then no line is really that great.
The second problem was the language. I love a good action film and sometimes language can be overlooked. But in this film, they had to script in the "F" word into almost every sentence if not twice in each sentence. I understand that police officers and mafia members have a tendency to have bad language, but I cannot begin to think it is that bad. Above and beyond the "F" word, they used every other fowl word in the book. The language detracted from the plot.
Not only were there too many "it" lines and "bad words," the third thing The Departed had going against it was that it was too long. Had it been shorter, a little less "spicy" in language, and a little less cheesy, it could have been a great film. The plot and story line were decent. The Mob has a mole in the police force, the police force has a mole in the mob. I bet no one saw that coming!? The idea was good, but the follow through was lacking. Try again, Martin. It could have been a decent film--but you messed it up.
