My mind is clouded
and on I go.
My life is crowded
but still I go.
I'm a stubborn fool
With an iron will.
Love is a tool.
It cuts through steel.
The weight on my shoulders
drags me down.
My heart's between boulders.
I don't want to go down.

Free my spirit.
Let me be.
Chase these shadows.
Don't touch me.
Free my spirit.
Let me fly.
Don't come near me.
Let me die.

These metal chains
are not enough.
Stop these games.
Don't bind me up.
I'm a wayward child
with no where to hide.
See the smile
but hear the cries.
Me and my folly
must be best friends.
Cause when she calls me
I grin and grin.

The eagle's wings
beat on the wind.
I want to go with them
me and my friend.
I want to run
Away from it all.
Pain isn't fun
I don't want to fall.

Me and my folly
together we go.
She is real jolly.
I am not so.
My heart is held captive
in sweet misery.
But me and my folly
think we are free.
