English Premier League Preview - Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December

2
As we enter December, the English Premier League action continues with a full program of games scheduled for Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December. Following their win over Arsenal last week, Chelsea have another tough game as they travel to one of the teams with ambitions to break into the top four, Manchester City. The rest of the league will be looking for Chelsea to slip up so that they can try and gain some ground on them although Chelsea will be looking to maintain their 5 point lead at the top of the table.

The biggest game of the weekend sees the league leaders Chelsea taking on Manchester City. Chelsea's form just seemed to get better as November progressed and they finished the month with a crushing 3-0 win on the home turf of Arsenal, who were expected to be one of their main title rivals. On current form Chelsea look a class apart from the other teams in the league with only Manchester United managing to hang onto their coat tails. Whether their form will take a dip at some point remains to be seen, but since early October the whole team has been playing well and they have been winning games with relative ease. Manchester City on the other hand can't seem to hold on to a lead at the moment and have now drawn seven games in a row. This must be frustrating as they could be much higher than their current 7th place in the league if they could convert some of the drawn games into wins. However the run of drawn games appears to be making them anxious and this was demonstrated to great effect in their last game against Hull, where they took the lead but again couldn't capitalize on this and gave away an equalizer in the final 10 minutes. On the other hand City are proving difficult to beat this season and have only lost one game. However it is hard to see them taking anything from Chelsea at the moment and I am going for a Chelsea win in this game.
