I want Jennifer Lopez's eyes. They always seem to just pop off of any magazine page she's on. Her eyes always have a twinkle and a sparkle to them. After doing a little research, I discovered Miss J. Lo has custom made mink false eyelashes. OK. I still want J. Lo's eyes but, reality check, I can't afford them.

I'm also afflicted with allergies which often make my overly sensitive eyes teary. Finding the right mascara is as difficult as finding the Loch Ness monster. A lot of non-scientific research and trial and error has led me to two favorite mascaras: Lancome's Definicils High Definition mascara and Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc Free Mineral mascara. They each have their advantages and drawbacks.

The Product: Lancome's Definicils High Definition Mascara:

This is Lancome's award winning mascara. It is an Allure Reader's Choice winner and is in the Allure Hall of Fame. Glam.com gave it a 2006 Beauty Award. The main focus of Definicils is creating lashes with superb definition.

The Advantages of Definicils:

Lancome can't make a bad mascara. You'll find any of their formulas to perform beautifully. This mascara has been around for some time and continues to be a best seller for them. They've updated it by giving you a choice in applicator brushes- regular or curved. I'm fond of the classic straight brush. It's easy to apply and gives your lashes a full look. I rarely have to apply more than one coat.

Definicils is ophthalmologist-tested and fragrance free. It's also suitable for contact lens wearers. This formula stays put. It doesn't flake off during the day. I can even sleep in it. I do wake up with a bit of smudge under my eyes but one stroke of an eye makeup remove pad whisks it away. If I only remove the smudge; I don't even have to reapply my mascara. Definicils is that good!

The Drawbacks of Definicils:

Takeaways
  • To prevent contamination, never share your mascara with anyone.
  • Mascara has a shelf life of 3 - 6 months. Replace this product often.

I'm sorry, I meant Cils Booster or Cils Booster XL (brain dead tonight - it's been a long day)

Just wait until Lancome's NEW Virtuose mascara - which hits stores this month!!! Sorry for your bad experiences in the cosmetic department. I am a Counter Manager for Lancome at a department store, and I love my job. I don't try to hound people. Actually, the commission is not enough to hurt your reputation by forcing people to buy more. I just offer the best service I can, and try to fit the needs of the costumer. But Virtuose - oooo you're going to love it! It lengthens the lashes, gives a 100 degree curl (which is even better than the 30 degree curl of flextencils, also by Lancome), more volume, AND lasts up to 12 hours without being waterproof. No - it will not smudge at all if you tear up, but will come off easily with any eye-makeup remover. I am so excited about it! For even better results with ANY of your mascaras, try the Cils Booster, or the Cils Booster Plus to condition and define your lashes before you put on your Mascara. :)
