Sufficient Reason?

It seems so blindingly obvious: there must be an explanation for the existence of everything and everyone. This statement, the Principle of Sufficient Reason, seems like an argument scientists would use as they argue with theists who refuse to provide a logical explanation for divinely inspired events. However, the PSR is used by theists to argue for the existence of God via the Cosmological Argument. Unfortunately for its proponents, the Principle of Sufficient Reason cannot be proven to be true. Furthermore, even if it true, the PSR can hurt the argument that there is a God much more than it can help.
