MySpace depicting Satanic rituals and descriptions of their goings-on.

Police went to the suspects' Myspace profiles and indeed, found all that they were looking for. Details about the vandalism, as well as, grotesque pictures of re-enacted necrophilia, and descriptions of their rituals could all be found on the popular web site.

The four were all of age, all aged 19 or 22. Their names are Danielle Wilbur, John and William Santiorello, and Dan Trassers.

"They are devout satanists," said Det. Robert Reecks of the Suffolk County Hate Crimes Bureau, when addressing the news conference. The charges of aggravated harassment have been brought against them, and in this case it stands as a hate crime, which brings stiffer penalties than had it been only aggravated harassment.

The arraigned suspects have touted themselves as devout satanists on their MySpace pages, as Det. Robert Reecks also described them during the news conference. When authorities asked the four what street they had been on so as to spray paint the Middle Island Baptist church, the four responded that they couldn't recollect where exactly they were, and that they happened across the church in the middle of the night when they were looking for a wooded area to try and seek a spiritualistic place to gather.

However, the alleged culprits spray-painted their MySpace profile names on the church, as well as other satanic symbols and depictions. So when the police started getting all sorts of tips about who may have done such a thing, some callers said to go look on the names of the MySpace profiles that are the same as the spray-painted names that are on the Middle Island Baptist church. This lead to the corroboration by police of the suspects' stories, what names and symbols were found spray-painted onto the church, and what was written about the symbols and incident on their MySpace pages.

I must say, as a Satanist, that these 4 guys are NOT "devout Satanists". They're just another example of somebody using a religion that they don't completely understand to explain their actions and avoid responsibility. Attacking satanism over something like this is NO different than attacking Christianity over the Waco incident, or many others, just because they SAY they're affiliated with a certain set of beliefs. EVERY religion has its fanatics, so stop making up scapegoats.

How ridiculous - attention seekers that is all. May the Lord have mercy on them.

It's a good thing sometimes that MySpace and Facebook are used otherwise the persons might not be found without their own desire to be seen and advertising themselves there.

Great Article! People are so dumb though they take pics of what they do.. spray paint their myspace name... on a church. And then they wonder how any could just search that name on google and myspace and dig up everything on them? Well at least anything they were dumb enough to post online... Sometimes I think these kids should be featured on American's dumbest criminals! But its a good thing these sites help the police catch people. What they did was pretty sick and wrong. I think people should be free to worship the devil is they feel that is what they want to do. But they don't have the right to ruin churches or disrespect other's faiths.

When will people learn, what happens off of MySpace, should stay off of MySpace? :-) Great reporting!

Very well done. It's ridiculous what people will post on MySpace or FaceBook thinking it's all anonymous without a trail leading back to them.

This was a good write-up. I agree with previous comment - these guys sound like America's dumbest criminals.
