Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio - a Roller Coaster Lover's Dream
The Blue Streak has been around for more than 41 years and is a classic. The Cedar Crick Mine Ride mimics a runaway mine train through twists and turns. The Corkscrew was the world's first triple-looping coaster. Disaster Transport hurls riders thru an indoor space adventure. The Gemini races on two separate tracks as riders compete to be first on this older wooden structure built on steel tubular tracks. The Iron dragon roller coaster takes you thru misty lagoons and huge treetops as you go for a ride. The Jr. Gemini is a great coaster to start young ones out on. The Wildcat and Woodstock Express are other coasters that are suitable for younger kids.
Then come the bigger and better coasters. The Magnum XL-200 was voted the "Best Steel Roller Coaster in the World". It has one of the tallest hills at 205 feet and fastest ride at 72 mph. The Mantis rises from the center of Cedar Point Lagoons with a twisted track that turns riders upside down four times. The Mean Streak is one of the tallest and fastest wooden roller coasters in the world, at 161 feet tall and having speeds of up to 65 mph. The Millennium Force is a "giga-coaster" that stands an amazing 310 feet in the air. It is one of the most popular rides still, and goes on an incredible 92 mph ride along steel tracks. The Raptor is an inverted roller coaster, with seats similar to those of a ski loft. You ride with your feet dangling on an inverted track and tumble head over heals six times. The Wicked twister is an amazing double twisting coaster that is 215-feet-tall and goes 72 mph up a huge twist. Top Thrill Dragster is the tallest and fastest roller coaster on Earth and still is the most popular in the park after 4 seasons.
