After a three-year hiatus from a steady gig on television, Ananda Lewis returns to host a reality television show.

Following in the path of many celebrity-headed shows before her, the show will be called, America's Next Producer.

The show, which will run for ten episodes, will feature aspiring individuals whose dream is to produce his or her own show or movie.

In the end, the winner will receive a $100,000 cash prize, a production office in Hollywood, California and a first-look deal with the TV Guide Network.

Each week, the contestants will be judged by David Hill, Chairman and CEO of the Fox Sports Television Group and TV Guide magazine's Senior Television Critic Matt Roush. They will be joined weekly by a celebrity guest judge. The celebrities who will appear have not yet been released.

Lewis, a San Diego native, received a Bachelor's degree in History and also attended the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts.

Lewis is most known for her role as host on BET's Teen Summit for three years in the 1990s. She then quickly moved to MTV, where she also worked as a host on MTV Live, Wanna Be a VJ Too and Total Request Live.

In 2002, her dream job became a reality when she received her own talk show, The Ananda Lewis Show.

Her new show will not be her first encounter with reality television. In 2004, she appeared in Celebrity Mole: Yucatan.

Lewis is an award-winning radio and television personality and was the recipient of the NAACP Image Awards for her documentary, True Life: I am Driving While Black. She has also co-hosted on the John Salley Block Party radio show on 100.3FM The Beat in Los Angeles, California.

Later this year, she will appear in Dash 4 Cash, a behind-the-scenes look at a TV reality series where six teams compete against each other.

Lewis will also appear in Donald Welch's stage play, The Divorce from May 17 through June 10 at the Cast Theater in Los Angeles, California.

A date has not been released when America's Next Producer will air.

I rooted for her when she had a talk show. I was a big admirer of her (beyond her obvious beauty) b/c she was one of the few black females on the MTV generation that wasn't "ghettofied". But her talk show was boring. I hope she does well with the reality show, although I think she belongs on WE.
