Dad will feel more than special when he receives a fabulous spin-for-a-prize gift from his little one this year on Father's Day. The craft is very easy for little kids to make, although you'll have to help them a little with spelling!

The simple craft turns a paper plate into a fabulous gift for Dad, by making it into a wheel-type spinner, that has sections which offer Dad various prizes he can cash in on, long after Father's Day is over.

You'll start by using any paper plate that's round. It can be a dinner-size plate or a saucer-size plate. Use alphabet stickers, or just a magic marker, to spell out the gifts Dad can receive when he spins the wheel. If you're using stickers, the plates can be colorful plastic types that are sold at grocery stores. If using magic marker, regular paper plates work best.

Prizes Dad can win might include some of the following: "Let Dad take a nap", "Neck Massage", "Big Hug", "Will Fetch Slippers", and other ones you or the child invents. Spell these out, around the outer edge of the plate, leaving a small gap between each phrase.

After the prizes are all in place, kids can further decorate the plate by coloring on it, using stickers, or even glitter paint. Let kids decorate the plate in any manner they wish, before proceeding to the next step:

Cut an arrow from paper. Attach it to the paper plate with a shank-type button. Cut a hole in the center of the arrow, so the shank of the button can easily pass through it, but the button itself will not. Do the same to the paper plate, finding the very center of the plate, then pushing the button through the arrow, then through the plate.

Turn the plate upside down and fill the shank part of the button with hot glue. Push in a toothpick, or piece of stick, through the hole. This will hold the button in place. Another way to allow the plate to spin is to place a thumb tack through the arrow and plate, then through a dowel rod. Now Dad simply spins the plate, and wherever the arrow points, that's his prize. Kids can place a sticker, or a checkmark, on the items as Dad wins each one.
