Every girl searches for it but very few actually find it. That's right, it's the perfect mascara! I'm not by any means an expert on makeup, my knowledge comes more from experience, trial and error. I've tried just about every type and brand of mascara out there, from the conventional brushes to those new plastic brushes that are suppose to prevent clumping and extend lashes. Maybe I'm just being old fashion but I really don't see how plastic brushes would work better than regular brushes and from personal experiences, they don't.

My journey to discovering the perfect mascara wasn't as painful as I thought it would be, don't get me wrong, there was some pain involved but overall, the experience wasn't horrific. With so many brands to choose from, with even more colors to decide on, now there are different types of brushes and textures, and with each brand claiming to be the 'best', it's easy to understand how any girl could be overwhelmed.

I chose to test out L'Oreal Double Extended mascara and Rimmel Extra Super Lash mascara because those were the two brands and specific types that were being advertised the most on TV and magazines. Choosing a color wasn't hard for me, I'm a simple girl and I don't wear make up often so I stuck with the typical black or jet black. I have pretty healthy long lashes already but I was looking for a mascara that would give my lashes a little something extra for the times I do go out with the girls. I wanted a mascara that thicken without clumping, that made my lashes look lush and extra long.

I tried L'Oreal Double Extended mascara first, with all the hype it was getting and the fact that it cost about $10, I just assumed it must be great. L'Oreal Double Extended mascara has two sides to it, the white end is the first step, it's suppose to extend the lashes and the blue end, the second step is meant to magnify the lashes, I'm guessing the maker means that it creates a thicker more visible look.

Takeaways
  • Choosing the right mascara
  • Be weary of complicated mascaras that all talk but no show.
  • More expensive doesn't neccessarily mean better quality.

HI Anny Welcome to the AC family! Great review! I'm with you, forget several 'steps' for mascara, just the basics work for me!!!
