When you are over 50 and at a beginner level, losing weight can seem a little daunting. I have seen the exercise videos on the market and they are really designed for the younger woman. That in itself can send a mature woman running from those videos. So what does a woman over 50 do if she is out of shape and wanting to take back control of her body? Well for starters she has to get up and get active. Don't worry about joining a gym or taking an over 50's aerobics class. Well at least not just yet anyway. Start small and get control back. By getting up and getting active you will find that not only are you losing weight but your circulation is improving. Also by being active your joints will not seem as stiff as they once were. Here are some great calorie burners for the woman, who is a beginner and over age 50.Do it by hand:
Being over 50 you can still remember cooking and doing everything by hand. Now with all the electrical appliances out there in almost every home, you are probably having some help with some of your cooking chores. Well to burn those calories you need to stop. When cooking from now on you need to chop your food by hand with just your knife instead of using a food processor. If you need food mixed up use just a spoon or whisk instead of using an electric mixer. By preparing foods without the use of electrical appliances you can burn calories.
Volunteer:
Volunteering can help you to burn calories by keeping you active. If you have the free time you can volunteer to be a candy striper at your local hospital. Walking those halls will help you burn calories and having a purpose will keep you moving. You can also volunteer to help your community by painting over graffiti that is making your neighborhood look unsightly.
