Create the Perfect "Get Well" Gift Basket

Great Ideas for Pregnant Women on Bedrest or Those Recovering from Surgery

Just about any pregnant woman who has been placed on bedrest suffers from feelings of boredom, cabin fever, and even mild depression. Being cooped up in the house all day without being able to get up and do normal daily activities is very difficult for most women. Here are some ideas to
help out the mom-to-be in your life who has been placed on bedrest.

Bring outside activities inside. One of the hardest parts of being on bedrest is missing out on activities. Cheer your pregnant friend up by bringing those activities to her. Stage a picnic on the living room floor by spreading out a blanket, opening all the windows in the house, and serving up fried chicken, potato salad, and strawberry pie. If this mom-to-be is involved with groups such as Bible study, exercise buddies, etc, get the group to visit her at her house instead of the normal meeting place one night. Trying to bring a few of your friend's normal activities to her while she is on bedrest is sure to brighten her spirits.

Arrange a "no boredom" gift basket. Create a gift basket full of items that would be useful to someone on bedrest. For instance you could include some favorite DVDs, magazines, knitting supplies, a devotional book, photo albums to fill, supplies for a home manicure----anything that can be used while experiencing bedrest. The busier the mom-to-be on bedrest can stay, the more quickly time will pass.

Offer up your services. Even the best husband can't do it all. Help your friend keep a tidy house, and a tight reign on the laundry, by offering up your services once a week or so. Stop by the house for a few hours just to do a few loads of laundry, get the dishes washed up, etc. You can use the time to visit as well. Having the house in order will not only your pregnant friend on bedrest happy, but will also certainly take a load off of her frazzled husband.

*Gasp* I honestly can't believe this was published. It IS the same article. I obviously copied and pasted the wrong thing as I wrote the article on pregnancy bedrest the same day as I wrote this one on get well baskets. I am embarassed. I will have to submit the one that was supposed to be this one!!! I am quite surprised that AC did not decline it.

I dislike the fact that you published the same article twice by changing the title and maybe one or two lines.
