The Rev. Jerry Falwell was found unconscious in his Liberty University office around 10:45 on Tuesday morning and was rushed to the hospital. Falwell had missed an appointment during the morning and people went looking for him. They discovered him unresponsive in his office and quickly rushed him to a local hospital. He was later reported dead and full causes for his death are yet unknown.

Jerry Falwell has been a leader of the Religious movement ever since he started the Thomas Road Baptist Church of Lynchburg, Virginia in the early 50's. He was born in 1953 to Helen and Carey Hezekiah Falwell and got his religious training at the Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. Falwell was the head of the Liberty College in Lynchburg, Virginia where more then 20,000 students are registered and studying all forms of religion thus making Falwell one of the most influential Christian leaders of moderns times.

His legacy wasn't all clean and clear as he was a supporter of Apartheid and spoke out against Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu, calling him a phony and a fraud. However, Falwell later apologized to Tutu stating that he had misspoken. Falwell was also an enemy of the Clinton family and used his money and power to produce a documentary trying to discredit the Clinton administration. "The Clinton Chronicles : An Investigation into the Alleged Criminal Activities of Bill Clinton," sold 150,000 copies and put a dent into the Clinton administration. The rest of Falwell career is filled with statements against the LGBT community and the ever classic accusation from his magazine that the kids TV show the Teletubies featured a gay character named Tinky Winky.
