While some might say that a person who is a homosexual is born with tendencies that can never be changed, and might also say there is nothing wrong with such a lifestyle, don't tell that to Andrew Comiskey. Comiskey was once a practicing homosexual himself, but today he shares the gospel of Jesus Christ with homosexuals and others bound by other sexual addictions. He says anyone can find the freedom he found in his faith. Recently he and his wife, Annette, celebrated their 20th anniversary.

On the official website of his ministry, Desert Stream, Comiskey says that 25 years ago he was a practicing homosexual. He says he was oppressed by a misplaced desire. He adds, however, that God showed him His "transforming love." He says God's love "elevated my sight as to who He was, and the higher purpose he intended for humanity."

Comiskey says that growing up he had parents who loved him but were a little detached from his life. He says that left him "hungry emotionally and vulnerable to false ways of getting my needs met." He says he had not had a close relationship with his father, and as a result he felt a great hunger for masculine love and affirmation.

He says it is easy in the American culture to embrace the homosexual lifestyle to find male love and affirmation. Comiskey, once a practicing homosexual himself, says such a lifestyle is a "perverse and idolatrous world that promises in vain to take away one's deep desire for love." Comiskey says that in the gay world he began to realize that no human being could satisfy his true need for love, and after trusting in the love of Jesus Christ, he began to want to help others bound by sexual addictions.

The kind of idiot I am too--not just the man I wrote about. If it makes me an idiot to not want my nephew, who is a homosexual to have gotten the virus that causes AIDs, or my niece, who is also a homosexual, to be bound by the same unhappy lifestyle, then I will proudly admit to being an idiot. If it makes me an idiot to love them and want better for their life, I plead guilty as charged. If it makes me an idiot to not want the same unahppy things or to want the best for people, I will gladly be considered an idiot in the eyes of the world.

"Andrew Comiskey says anyone wanting to overcome homosexuality, or any kind of sexual addiction"-- what kind of idiot would consider "homosexuality" a "sexual addiction"?! geez...

Andrew Comiskey is Bi, not Gay... and just happened to choose a female partner and bank on it. And yeah, what Jeff said!

LMAO Jeff. I wholeheartedly agree with you. Mr. Comiksey, on the other hand wasn't born gay. Gay people are born gay, and nothing or no one chan change them.

I have a niece and a nephew, a brother and a sister who are homosexuals. I love them both and want the best for their lives--and I don't think that can be found in the homosexual lifestyle. My nephew has the virus that causes AIDS, and I certainly don't want them to die. I certainly believe that Andrew Comiskey, who once was a homosexual himself and certainly seems to be much happier now than he was before can answer for his faith concerning that lifestyle better than I can. I work with two homosexuals, and the one has one of the worst tempers I have ever seen. I don't think the world "gay" is very appropriate.
