You'll be able to take control of Lara using the Nintendo Wii in "brand-new, unique ways" the publisher says. Eidos didn't say exactly how the Wii Remote or how the Nunchuk controller will be used for the new Tomb Raider game. They will announce an approximate release date very soon.
As for all the other console editions, they will be released on June 5th of this year. PC and PlayStation 2 fans will be able to get their hands on this new Tomb Raider game in just a few weeks. The PSP version is expected to be released just shortly after the PS2 and PC version is out. The Wii version will probably be released sometime during the second half of 2007, although the actual release date should be announced soon.
Lara croft started her Tomb Raider adventure way back in 1994 when Toby Gard from Core Design had an idea for a new game. He thought it would be awesome to create a "female version" of Indiana Jones. This was a risky move back then. This concept was completely new and his co-workers thought he was crazy.
They went ahead with the idea and began to design the game. At first Lara had blond hair but they decided to change her to a brunette. One of the first designs also had Lara looking like a Nazi wearing a baseball cap. Those first designs were scrapped, and they finished with the Lara we all know and love today.
The first Tomb Raider game was finally released in 1996. It went on to have several sequels and become very popular with guy game players (no doubt due to her character design). Lara even made it to the big screen in 2001 as "Lara Croft Tomb Raider". Angelina Jolie was chosen for the part of Lara. Gamers were no doubt thrilled over this selection, as Jolie really fits the bill for Lara Croft.
