There is something about the call of the sea that draws in just about anyone. There is a mystery about the sea that is so compelling that to have a chance to visit historic ships is a must on a good deal of Kid and Family Friendly Vacation plans. And a chance to visit and explore submarines, the most mysterious ships of all is not to be missed. At the St. Mary's Submarine Museum, you can see memorabilia from all different submarines, both American and foreign, use a real periscope to take a sneak peak at what is going on out side, see how the sailors lived when on board and come away with an extensive knowledge of the history of the submarine, which goes all the way back to the Civil War. It is a fun and educational stop on your Kid and Family Friendly Vacation in Georgia and if you have extra time, take a tour of St. Mary's itself. They are located at 102 St. Marys Street West
Saint Marys, Georgia. 31558-4945 (912)882-ASUB (2782)
