In these modern times, with equal rights and all, some bridal showers include the menfolk too. However, most men I know would rather take part in the "Bachelor's Party" and skip what they perceive to be the "Boring-Frilly-Tea Party" the women partake in. What the menfolk don't know is, that a bridal shower is filled with delicious food, party games, and lots of laughter and fun!
Here are some games that will surely make the next bridal shower you host a hit!
1. Name Scramble
Give each of your guests a sheet of paper and a pen. At the top of the paper, you will have already printed out the bride's and the groom's given names. Position the names so they are one on top of the other, such as this example:
KEVIN PATRICK JONES
SHAUNA DEANN SMITH
Next, give your guests three or four timed minutes to make as many words as they can out of the two names. The guest who writes down the most number of words wins a small prize.
2. Wedding Scramble
Here's another scramble game you can play at your next bridal shower. It will exercise your guests' gray matter and bring on some laughs at the same time!
Write down ten or twenty words- depending how long you want this game to run- that pertain to a wedding. These words can include: bride, groom, ringbearer, honeymoon, rings, minister, church, reception, bridesmaid, flowers, tuxedo, limousine- you get the drift.
Then, scramble the words and print them on a piece of paper. Give each guest a paper and allow them an ample number of minutes (allow fifteen to thirty seconds per word) to unscramble your word list. The woman who unscrambles the most words is, of course, the winner.
3. Show Us Your ____!
This next game is loads of fun because you'll have your guests ripping through their purses as fast as they can. Plus, have you ever wondered what other females carry in their bags? You'll sure find out when you play this game at your next party!

Did You Know?
The old tale goes that a Dutchman fell in love with a young girl who had no dowry. So, her friends placed gifts inside an umbrella. They then had a party for the poor girl. When the friends opened the umbrella over the girl's head, the gifts "showered" her. Hence the term, "bridal shower."
