Maybe you are in denial that you have an eating disorder, or maybe you tried to get help, listened to doctors, took medication, and received therapy, but nothing could stop you from seeing your body in a distorted manner. I have been there, repeatedly; then one day I came to the realization that my eating disorder was something I would live with for the rest of my life. In my opinion, an eating disorder is not something that fades away with time, goes away through therapy, or is cured with medication; instead, an eating disorder is something you have to make the choice to want to fight everyday. Making that choice to fight is not an easy one, so I took a tough love approach. I wrote down the things I was doing and thinking while I had an eating disorder; I forced myself to read them and I was shocked and disgusted, but reading these things each morning is what drove me to fight my eating disorder.

You may find these tips and questions harsh or vulgar, but if you have an eating disorder, you need to think about these things. I really believe if you take time each morning to read these things, let them sink in, and really think about them, you will want to fight your eating disorder.

1) You Look in the Mirror and Hate the Reflection Staring Back at You, but Did You Ever See Your Reflection in the Toilet Bowl Water? Now that is Sexy, Right?

I've been there. I woke up each morning stared in the mirror horrified by what I saw. I started thinking, what was so much better about seeing my pale face, sticking my finger down my throat in the vomit-filled water of the toilet bowl?
