If you have a toddler then you know that keeping them from hurting themselves sometimes is inevitable. I am a mother to a 2 year old and if I just look away for a minute she is on the ground or has hit herself with something. When it comes to the bathroom I try to keep it up to date with safety features. Many children have lost their lives in a bathroom due to not having proper safety measures. There are many things you can do to keep your child safe.

If your child is potty training try to have a toddler toilet seat that goes on top of the regular seat, this way they don't fall in and hurt themselves. You can find these at any local store such as a Wal-Mart or Target.

Also when bathing them, make sure you have a mat to go in the bathtub. There are many colorful mats for your child. They come in the shape of a duck or a flower and even have a hot water gauge. This will help your child from slipping in the tub and hurting themselves, possibly drowning.

You can also buy a rubber bubble dispenser that goes on the tub faucet, not only is it fun for your child but it keeps them from hurting themselves if they were to slip and fall on the faucet, the rubber won't let them hurt themselves as badly if they hit the actual faucet. I have one for my daughter in the shape of a duck.

You might also want to keep a step stool close. Many toddlers tend to imitate everything they see and brushing their teeth's is one of them. A stool will help them reach the sink and their toothbrush, but make sure you keep a watchful eye on them; you don't want them grabbing something they shouldn't.

Buy them their own shampoos and conditioners. There are plenty of children shampoos that wont irritate their precious eyes. It also teaches them to bathe themselves and to do it correctly. Make sure you don't leave them unattended when they are in the tub.

Get locks for the toilet and cabinets. You can also find outlet covers so they don't stick anything in them. Many toddlers are curious at this age and will try to fit anything in an outlet.
