In today's busy lifestyles a lot of people are looking to either further their degree's or looking to achieve their goal of finally receiving a college eduction but with added time constrictions of family and work traditional colleges may not be an option and people are now looking into online colleges. But are online colleges for you? Let's go through some of the pro's and cons of both and then you can answer that question for yourself.

Traditional colleges offer you classroom participation and sometimes hands on experience. You have the ability to talk to your professors in person and possibly have one on one help if need be. You will also share in the interaction of your follow classmates and join study groups. You will also have use of college library's, study resources, and the push of people standing over you to motivate you to have your work completed. You will need to be at your classes when they are scheduled and there is not a lot of room for absences during these classes.

While online colleges offer you more flexibility for the person who is raising a family or working but you will need to have better time management skills as no one will be there pushing you on a day to day basis. There is no time constriction of when a course can be taken. You will need a much higher level of discipline when it comes to online colleges and the drive to be self motivated.

Online colleges are not for everyone as the course material is the same as a traditional college you need to be able to push yourself instead of having others push you to get things done. Both offer you the interaction with professors and the way most online colleges are now handling their courses you even have the interaction with other students through certain computer platform software.

If you are not the type who can easily motivate yourself or your time management is lacking traditional colleges may be the way for your to head as those two major things are a very high need for online colleges.

I prefer online classes. I do better when I have a sense of being on my own. I agree with Susan. There are several people that can be successful without a higher degree, but for a lot of us pursuing one we are doing it for personal reasons. :)

Hey Ambriel (From WAHM like me): I have done both college venues and I do prefer the classroom to see my peers. Although, if I do not have to give any presentations, I would prefer online courses instead. But, I was a social science major and all I did was write papers and give presentations. If I ever went back for my graduate degree, it would be online F/T though. With twins, it is not easy for me to leave my home at times.
