According to Sports Illustrated , the Mets outfielder Lastings Milledge is in hot water for creating a rap CD. Some of the contents of the rap CD include foul and strong language. Milledge was the producer and the performer on this rap CD that contains sexually explicit words. Milledge received a call from the general manager, Omar Minaya. Omar called Lastings Milledge to let him know that he has made a mistake.

One of the songs on the CD is called "Bend Ya Knees" was uploaded onto the website souljaboirecords.com on the net. This record label was created by the Mets baseball player. Some of the explicit content includes Milledge saying a racist term for blacks and extreme derogatory language towards women. Just this last Wednesday, the web site immediately removed the song from download. Even though the song was removed, general manager Manaya said he thought the song was still going to be released.

According to the Star Ledger , "He has the right to produce a record," said the general manager. "But after the conversation we had, (my staff) will review it and we'll go from there." As of right now, there had been no disciplinary action taken. However, some kind of disciplinary action could still happen.

Milledge was among the top three selections in the draft pick in 2003 but there were press reports that prevented this pick from happening. It came out that Milledge had faced an expulsion from Northside Christian High School during 11th grade. He was cited as having "inappropriate behavior" for the expulsion. Because of this, Milledge was not chosen in the 2003 amateur draft pick until the Mets decided to choose him as their twelfth pick. The organization conducted a private investigation in the case of the "inappropriate behavior", and were happy with the results. Right after the investigation was over, the Mets signed Lastings Milledge with a $1.9 million bonus on contract.

That's probably going to get him traded.

What? Because he is famous he does not have a right to free speech and expression all of a sudden? Give me a break. These are grown men not children, people want role models for their kids...it should be you the parent. You got people like the "President of the USA" doing a lot more worse things, yet the baseball player is the one people should be more upset about towards their kids.

Awe - these talented athletes should be setting an example of high morals for young kids. So many kids look up to these guys for hope and dreams come true. Too bad his athletic talent and celebrity can't serve better causes. Good report.
