Having entered that phase in life where I need to find a good foundation capable of covering uneven skin tones and imperfections without causing the 'fine lines and wrinkles' to appear like cracks in a sidewalk, I recently decided to try Neutrogena's Mineral Sheers Powder Foundation.

A friend of mine gave me a sample of the Bare Minerals she uses and I loved the coverage and light 'no make-up' feel I had with it, however cost, the 'auto-ship plan, and my impatience in waiting for a order all were reasons for me to consider similar products more easily obtained at my local retail store.

I decided to go 'all or nothing' and tossed my very old collection of mis-matched products to replace them all with Neutrogena. Neutrogena skin care and make-up products has a good reputation, have been on the market for years and comes with glowing recommendation from family and friends who are 'sensitive' to a lot of products.

The Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Powder Foundation comes conveniently packaged with its own brush protected by a clear sleeve which push down into the base of the package. You then tap the side of the container until the powder foundation is seen at the end of the brush and apply. It took a few rather firm taps to get the powder into the brush for the first use, but after the that the brush is easily loaded with a gentle tap against the side of your hand.

For my skin tone I chose Light to Neutral 30 and also purchased the Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Powder Blush Silky Sable 30 which comes in the same type of container along with the self-contained brush. Again, the initial loading of the brush took a bit of tapping to release the blush into the brush, but it went on as light and airy as the foundation.

I need new foundation soon. I will have to look at this next time I'm shopping for makeup.

Great article, thanks. I didn't know mineral makeup was available at the store. I am going to run out and try this today. Neutrogena is affordable too. I currently use products from the department store counters.

Great product review. I am about to run out of my Sheer Cover and have been seeing ads for the brands in the local stores. I just might be converted!! Be sure to keep your receipt and use it as a tax write off! (You probably already know that, but just in case.)

Interesting concept. The picture with that brush combined with your description has me itching to buy this and play with it a bit.
