For the last two decades this nation has seen an upswing in Temporary Services and Part-time Employment hiring to save a great deal of money on not having to carry the bill for benefit packages or not having to bother with Unionization of their companies. Now most of these companies have felt that they are saving money in the payroll budget. Some employees that were hired as temp. workers have been with the same company for up to five to ten years without any kind of benefits, not even being paid for a sick or personal day, for their whole tenure.

The businesses and services that benefited the most by these hiring practices were the Temporary Agencies and/or Services. This is because they did not have supply any type of Employee Benefits and were able to charge Companies and Businesses astronomical hourly fees. The reason for this is because, not only did the Temporary Worker have to be paid but so did the Agencies. If an employer liked a particular, temp. Worker and wanted to hire this employee on a permanent basis, then they were obligated to pay that Temp. Service sometimes, thousands of dollars to have that particular employee released from their agency so they could hire them. That clause is always part of the contract a Temp. Agencies uses for companies and businesses to signs for the use of their services.

Then there is also the side of convenience, for example; what if one of your more dedicated employees had a personal emergency at home and needed a couple of days off? The only thing is, you did not find this out until that morning when you arrived at work. When you call your Temporary Service on such short notice, all you can do is hope someone competent is available at that time. In addition, what if you only have maybe four assignments that need to be done until your Assistant returns? That really doesn't matter with a Temporary Service, you still will have to pay for a full eight hour shift day, whether she sits on the phone for the remainder of the day making personal calls and twisting her hair.
