Beyonce Set to Perform in Raleigh
 Raleigh.

The concert in Raleigh will be one of the 77 shows that the songstress will make in the Beyonce Experience tour.

The Houston native made her presence known to the world as the lead singer and creative drive behind super girl group, Destiny's Child. Their chart-topping hits included, Survivor, Bootylicious, and Independent Women, Part I, which was featured on the Charlie Angels: Full Throttle soundtrack. As a group, Destiny's Child won several awards including two Grammys for their single, Say My Name.

In 2003, Knowles ventured into a solo career and released her debut album, Dangerously in Love. The album went platinum in just three weeks. A year later, it garnered five Grammys and opened up many doors of opportunity.

Among the numerous awards that she has in her trophy display, there are none more historical than when she became the first African American woman to ever win the ASCAP Pop Songwriter of the Year Award in 2001.

Knowles released her second album, B' Day on September 4, 2006, the same day as her birthday. In its first week, the album sold more 541,000 copies in the United States, making it her highest first week sales as a solo artist and topping Christina Aguilera's record of 346,000 copies sold in one week for that year.

Knowles re-released the deluxe edition and video anthology of B'Day in April of this year but has since been removed from shelves because of a current lawsuit over one of its tracks.

Not only has Knowles taken over the music industry but she has also made a mark in the movie industry as one of Hollywood's newest talents.
