The young woman caught her first break in a screen performance of a Skittles commercial. In her early career, she appeared as a guest star in the television series Law and Order and made her film debut in the movie Animal Room in 1995. Amanda Peet kept her acting career going in relatively unknown indie movies.
Peet landed her first major role as Jack in the 1999 series of Jack and Jill that was aired on the WB network. She later did guest appearance in the 8th season of Seinfeld as a waitress that Jerry Seinfeld meets and later on dates. She's remembered by this role as being the woman who dated two men simultaneously, being Jerry and her roommate. The first widely-released feature film was born in 2000 being Amanda's first large film roll for the movie The Whole Nine Yards. During the same year, People magazine voted her one of the 50 most beautiful people. Since then her movie career has taken off with bigger roles in Saving Silverman starring along side Jack Black and Steven Zahn, and Something's Gotta Give in 2003. Amanda Peet plays the unforgettable role as Jack Nicholson's lover and Diana Keaton's daughter.
In 2005, Amanda played in This Is How It Goes by filling in for Marisa Tomei who couldn't appear after six days of rehearsal. Later that year she plays a role as Ashton Kutcher's lover in the movie A Lot Like Love. Later, she goes on to play in The Whole Ten Yards being a second to the first, where she co-starred with Sarah Paulson, who was her old cast mate from the show Jack and Jill. Amanda Peet's most recent movie role is for playing in The Ex, which is a comedy co-starring Zach Braff.
