The prom is an event that is more than special in the mind of a female teenager. There are many female high school juniors or seniors who have waited their whole high school career just for this one night. With all of the anticipation it is likely that all bases have been covered; however, if you are planning on attending the prom this year or next year you should use these helpful prom preparation tips to make the night as memorable as possible.A dress is one of the first things thought about and purchased for the prom. There are a large number of places to shop for a prom dress. When picking out a prom dress girls are encouraged to bring along someone who will let them know exactly how they look in the dress. This person can be a parent or a friend, but be sure to ask them to tell you the truth. While hearing that your favorite dress so far doesn't look the greatest on you may be heartbreaking, it is better than looking less attractive then you really are.
The place that you purchase the dress from can be just as important as the dress itself. When selecting a prom dress your first impulse may be to head to your local mall, but you need to remember that may other prom goers are thinking the same way. The last thing that you would want to do is show up to the prom wearing the same dress as someone else. You may want to consider purchasing a prom dress from a small boutique or a store designed especially for selling prom dresses. These stores often keep track of the dresses purchased and what prom they will be worn at.
Once you have a beautiful prom dress you will have to select prom shoes to go along with that dress. You are encouraged to purchase shoes that you can actually walk in. If you are interested in purchasing high heels, but do not have experience walking in them you may want to practice. You can practice wearing your prom shoes or you can purchase cheap imitation heels to make sure that you can wear them before paying for potentially expensive prom shoes.
