one problem I've always had with Head and Shoulders is that while it controls dandruff very well, it seems to be overly harsh resulting in dry hair. Denorex, on the other hand, even the extra strength version recommended for moderate dandruff, can be used daily or almost every day. I use the 2 in 1 extra strength which includes a conditioner. I have been using it nearly daily for years, hard to control dandruff and all, (I can't stand itchy scalp or flakes all over my shirt) with no ill effects on my hair.
Denorex has had former Dallas Cowboy and Miami head coach Jimmy Johnson, who I recently had the opportunity to meet, as a pitchman over the years, compared to Head and Shoulder's Vanessa Marcil among others. If I had to be deserted on an Island with either, Jimmy, sorry guy, but you're voted off the island. Can you imagine Jimmy Johnson and John Edwards on an island fighting over the last can of hair spray? Sounds like an idea for a "reality show". Remember, you read it here first. If this Presidential race doesn't work out, Senator...
However, the products Johnson and Marcil were pitching are another story. While Head and Shoulders is known for being harsh and creating dry, brittle hair, Denorex is just as good at controlling dandruff without drying out the hair.
Denorex contains pleasant smelling menthol and is non-drying due to the absence of alcohol in part. Denorex controls psoriasis with the largest dosage of pyrithione zinc available without a prescription. Denorex' 2% pyrithione zinc is twice as much as that of Head and Shoulders. Denorex is gentle and effective in inhibiting the growth of P. Ovale, an orgainism which medical experts believe is a leading cause of dandruff.
