How to Avoid a Speeding Ticket (Legally)

It might be the worst feeling in the world. You're coasting along, listening to your music and having a jolly ol' time when all of a sudden, out of the blue, you hear the sirens wail and see the red and blue lights flashing, freezing you in your tracks and compelling you to pull over. You freeze up and don't know what to do, but hope that your first glance of the cop will make him seem nice. But alas, he walks up to your window with a little notepad, and you know you're doomed. You are about to receive your first traffic citation. If you have not experienced this yet, be happy and do your best to never have to, and if you have, well, you know exactly the feeling. I would like to submit some ideas, perhaps ones you never thought of, to keep you from getting a speeding ticket without resorting to illegal measures like radar detectors.
The first thing you should remember is that not all police cars are marked. Sometimes they won't have sirens or the police insignia on them. They are not easy to spot, which is why they do it. So don't think that just because you don't see a police car anywhere nearby that it's your chance to speed. They know what you're thinking, and they're way ahead of you, trust me.
Don't think that "going with the flow of traffic" is going to protect you. I've known of several situations where someone got a ticket when many others were going the same speed as them. You see, the primary purpose of pulling over speeders is to make examples out of them. There is no possible way for them to catch every person speeding, but the whole idea is to deter you from doing it in the first place. On a two lane road, the "flow of traffic" idea may work, but on a four lane road when a cop can sneak up beside you, don't count on it.
A policeman typically can't catch you when he's traveling in the opposite lane because he obviously can't fire his radar gun while concentrating on the road. But, he can radio a cop located in the direction you're going. And if there's a speed trap ahead of you, you're practically toast.
