Ludacris, Patrick Dempsey, Jennifer Morrison to Be in Indianapolis 500 Parade

The Indianapolis Star reports that rapper Ludacris will be in the Indianapolis 500 parade this year. Many different actors from shows on TV will also make an appearance. A star from the ABC show Grey's Anatomy will also be in the Indianapolis 500 parade. Patrick Dempsey from Grey's Anatomy and Jennifer Morrison who is on the TV show House, will also be in the parade.

Rapper Ludacris has been in the music industry since he had his first big album released in 2000. This Georgia rapper's first CD release was titled "Ludacris Back For The First Time" and included hits like "Game Got Switched" and "Get Off Me". With his music success, Ludacris released "Word Of Mouf" in 2001, "Chicken & Beer" in 2003, "The Red Light District" in 2004 and "Release Therapy" in 2006.

The Indianapolis 500 festival officials made an earlier announcement that said Chuck Yeager would also be in attendance at this years event. Chuck Yeager became famous when he broke the sound barrier back in 1947. Other actors that will be appearing include John Oates, Pat O'Brien, Alison Sweeney, Zachary Quinto, Jesse Metcalfe, Tyler Christopher, Eric Braeden, and Jesse Metcalfe. Colts Super bowl winner Peyton Manning will also appear as the Grand Marshal for the event.

According to the 500 Festival website, there will also be other events associated with the Indianapolis 500 parade. On May 19th, there will be a 500 Festival breakfast at the Brickyard. This breakfast will be hosted by Mayor Bart Peterson of Indianapolis. The Mayor and the Indy 500 invite the public to attend this breakfast, which also includes the 500 Festival Queen Coronation.

There will be an event for your children at the Chase 500 Festival Kids' Day on May 20th. This is claimed as the state's largest outdoor festival for kids. This special event will have many different types of games, mini car races, crafts and performances on stage. And best of all, this event is completely free. You can bring the whole family for a day of fun. This event will be held at Monument Circle in Downtown Indy on May 20th, from noon to 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon.
