I recently wrote about the Wiikey which is an awesome mod-chip that allows you to play burned games in your Wii system. Well there is another mod-chip that is jjust as good if not better than the Wiikey and that is the WiiD. Both work basically the same way, they are mod-chips that you install on your Wii's circuit board and then it will allow the Wii to load games that aren't original copies. This is a must have for anyone who has a Wii and some good technical skills.

I only suggest the Wiikey or the WiiD to people who either have knowledge of circuitry or of soldering. You will have to do some really interesting things to get the WiiD installed on your Wii and it can be tricky if you don't know anything about electronics and one mistake could cost you $250 (price of your Wii). So if you are thinking of the WiiD then also think of possibly finding someone who offers professional installation or take you time and be very careful.

The WiiD wont cost you much the mod-chip is listed for $34.95 in the US and you can get one here (www.mod-chip.com). There are a lot of other retailers that offer the WiiD here is a link to some places you can get the WiiD.

Also this link Wiimod is to the WiiD's home page and there is a lot of good information on the site, including downloads, reviews, and support. I suggest if you buy a WiiD you check out the downloads section it offers some really tutorials and diagrams on how to go about installing the WiiD. Also you can find firmware upgrades so you can stay up to date and make sure your WiiD is going to work properly. They also offer a good instructions manual on how to install and run the WiiD the correct way and will help you avoid any issues that might come up along the way while installing the WiiD.

Here are some other diagrams that will help you when installing your WiiD.

In addition if you go to http://www.mod-chip.com and find the WiiD they have a link where you can email their technicians and get on the list for installation of the WiiD which is a good idea because they will replace your Wii if they ruin it.
