Madeleine McCann's Website Gets Over 50 Million Hits

A website was set up to help find Madeleine McCann, the four-year-old British girl who disappeared on a family holiday 15 days ago in Portugal. The website, www.findmadeleine.com, has already received more than 50 million hits, according to Reuters .The website was set up to help find the missing child, who disappeared from her bedroom at a hotel resort on May 3rd while her parents dined close by.

Over 7,500 people have left messages of support and concern.

Thousands of people have been doing their best to help out the case by downloading appeal posters and by forwarding an email chain letter that the little girl's family started.

"It is booming," said Calum MacRae, who is the director of the company behind the site. "We didn't expect this number of people. We had 10 million hits between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday -- our server just gave up, but we resolved that within five minutes", according to Reuters .

The website www.bringmadeleinehome was changed to www.findmadeleine.com on Wednesday.

Many people from all over the world have left messages of prayer and support on the website.

"You are in my thoughts every day," wrote Heidi from Finland. "I pray that she will be found soon safe and well." Debbie Bates, from Australia, wrote: "As a mother of two, I cannot imagine for a moment what you are going through", according to Reuters .

Kate and Gerry McCann are taking strength from the messages, according to family member Michael Wright.

"Their purpose is to turn hope into action," he said on Thursday. "We want everyone to have an image of Madeleine in whatever country in Europe they visit", according to Reuters .

On Saturday at the English FA Cup final between Manchester United and Chelsea at London's Wembley Stadium, a video appeal will be shown with hopes of finding the little girl.

Unfortunately, there is no evidence for the Portuguese police to make any arrests at this time.

hi i have been sporting maddie since she went missing we need loads more help if any one reads this please help what kind of person would do that to her it is very up setting maddie is a nice to everyone so who has took her what has she done to u so please tell us where she is it has been a long time since she went so i dont now who could of done that and what have her parents done to u nothing kate and gerry are very very up set we are u praying for her i hope she is still alive if i could just have one wish it would be to bring maddie back to her home with her family they can not live with out her so i just dont know who could do that she has missed pne chrismas with out her mum and dad dont let it be a nother one so plz plz plz plz plz bring her home thanks melissa innes

i know maddies parents were very very nieve in leaving them kids on their own while they drank a few yards away, but they dont deserve the very evil comments you are leavin them, they are already paying the price for their stupidity, so give them a bleedin break eh, i hope to god you get your gorgeous little girl back very soon, i always think about her and youze, what you must be goin through and it dosent bare thinking about, come home soon maddie everyone is waiting for you...love steph and family from liverpool xxxxx.

god,you are one terrible person les hutch!!! of course they dont pocket the money!! it is looked after by a number of people/trustees,who decide exactly how it is spent!! the parents made a mistake!! they didnt carry out an evil act!! you horrible little man!! it would be soooo nice,if someone would sew your dirty drivelling mouth up!!!

all you mean spirited people,that have never done anything wrong in your lives,make me physically sick!!! you really believe that kate,had a meal,popped home to kill her daughter,then went back for a drink>??? i dont think so,duhhhhh murat snatched madeline,he was witnessed outside the flat,by 10 different people!! he took her straight to the house 3 mins away. when the coast was clear,his girlfriend drove her 25 miles to the town,where she was witnessed by 3 people,handing the child over to her husband!! who then delivered maddie to whoever paid all of the money!! as for the police,they spent most days down the pub getting drunk,or beating up women,like the portugese lady beaten to hell,to admit she gave her baby away,she will now win her appeal,and that fat,useless,drunken portugese policeman,can go to jail!!! i really hope one of you wonderful people,with halos over your heads,sit down and think what enormous pain and suffering,this woman has alrea

It is simpy astonsihing that the Mcann's have never been prosecuted for neglect. The question is, how many more people have and indeed do, leave their children unsupervised without an adult carer. I personally would never dream of leaving my child or children unattended, especially in a foriegn country. However that child has met her fate, the parents nevertheless should be held accountable. Stastically, 1 in 4 children are killed at the hands of their parent/s or so-called guardian. There is not one shred of substantial evidence to strongly suggest that the poor little girl was abucted by a third party. Alarm bells ring! Now we hear they may be making a film about her disappearance? Well if this report is true, then it just further confirms my own personal suspicions. I hope to god that I am wrong, but I don't think so. Whatever the truth, may the truth come out and poor little Maddie returns home aalive and in good health.

These people actually have the cheek to accept presents from the poor unsuspecting naive public who are THROWING gifts at them. They - the McCanns - have more money than anyone sending them the gifts their children don't need. There are plenty of children out there with loving, caring parents who won't get a thing this Christmas, through no fault of their own but, at least their children will be well cared-for! No doubt the Pope will be blessing them again at Xmas!!! The pair of them should be serving time for sheer NEGLECT of their children - you nor I would get away with it (not that we would even THINK of leaving our children unattended while we sat and drank in a bar!!!) Why aren't they being prosecuted for child abuse???? That's what happens to the ordinary person in the street who gets their child removed for a 5 minute blunder!! Those two are as guilty as sin and should be held accountable for what has happened. Talk about British justice - what a farce!!!!!

Evil parents who left their children unattended - now they are making money hand over fist because of it!! No money was ever raised for Sarah Payne or Jessica and Holly - all of whom were killed!!! How DARE these disgusting people call themselves parents!! If they were not supposed "professionals" their other two children would have been removed from their care and, in my opinion, should STILL be removed. Selfish people like those scumbags don't deserve to have kids!!

It is their fault as they left their children, 3 babis in a room on their own, thats neglect. the grandma of the girl who was mauled to death by a dog was taken to court immediatly and charged with manslaughter, she was from a council estate, is that why its different?
