Sierra Entertainment and Vivendi Games have announced today that TimeShift will be available on Playstation 3 this Fall. The sure-to-be killer first person shooter (FPS) is scheduled to debut at Sony's Gamer's Week event in San Diego, California.

TimeShift is a unique first person shooter that is said to immerse players in a deep storyline as the main character is equipped with a "quantum suit" that slows, stops and reverses the flow of time.

Already destined to be a hit, Timeshift has been described as one of the most fast-paced and enjoyable first person shooters we've seen. Having sampled the goods, IGN.com recently described many of the games features including its customizable game modes, interactive (and very detailed) environments as well as the immense gory factor that has enemies blowing up into "chunks of meat" as you shoot your way through the game.

With a robust multi-player experience gamers can take the time control powers online with up to 16 players battling it out across seven game modes. In addition gamers can customize their own game mode using over 60 options with a total of 14 multi-player maps to choose from.

Al Simone, Senior VP of Global Marketing for Sierra said, "Sierra Entertainment and Sabre Interactive are changing the way gamers play FPS games by giving them the ultimate weapon: Time. TimeShift will compete with the best shooter games of the year on any platform and will offer Playstation 3 gamers a visceral new experience unlike they have ever seen or played before."

Timeshift is already scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 in September of 2007 and on the PC in July 2007. Sierra is promising to turn the FPS genre upside down with TimeShift's single-player game. We can only wait and see if they keep that promise.

Developed by Sabre Interactive, TimeShift will have an ESRB "M" for Mature rating. I'm guessing it was the "chunks of meat".
