Senator Clinton, a seasoned political pro has an understanding of handling foreign affairs. Mean while Senator Obama is pretty
As the race for the White House intensifies, many news outlets are trying to interpret which way the African American vote will swing. Right now the two major candidates competing for these votes are Senator Barack Obama and Senator Hillary Clinton.
Senator Obama hit the jackpot when media powerhouse Oprah Winfrey went on record with her endorsement of his candidacy. Oprah who can turn anything or anyone she mentions on her show to gold appeals to every American across the board. So with her endorsement, Senator Obama has a very good chance of winning the democratic nomination, despite the fact that he has yet to fully lay out a concrete stance on the issues at hand.
Former President Bill Clinton was highly favored in the African American community. He was dubbed "The First Black President" by many in the media. After the Monica Lewinsky scandal, many in the black community were quick to forgive him. That goes without saying that his wife New York Senator Clinton is also has support from the African American community as well. She is seen as a strong woman, who is no stranger to personal crisis.
It is strange how Senator Obama's "blackness" is questioned by many in the community. Meanwhile the Clintons can pop in any black church in the country and be welcomed with open arms. Former President Clinton even opened up an office in Harlem after he left the White House.
The Bush Administration will be leaving behind a mess of a foreign affairs legacy and frankly it may be too much for Senator Obama to handle so soon. Our next president will have to get in there and mend the world public relations mess Bush will be leaving behind.
