Book Report: Oliver Twist

Oliver Twist is a story by Charles Dickens that takes place in the middle of the 19th century. It the story of a young orphan named Oliver Twist. His mother died while giving birth in an old workhouse. He has moved around through different orphanages and finally runs away to the streets
 of London. On the way to London he meets a nice boy named Jack Dawkins, also known as the Dodger. The Dodger gave the poor orphan a place to stay and something to eat and drink. Oliver found out that his new "friends" were thieves and they forced Oliver to help them with a robbery. They were supposed to use Oliver to sneak into a house through a small opening and unlock the front door. The owners were awakened and Oliver got shot. Oliver's partners in crime fled the scene. Oliver told the owners of the house his story and they took him as their own. Oliver grew attached. The family educated him and put him to work a little. At the end of the story an old friend named Mr. Brownlow adopted him.
