Letters from Iwo Jima is the story of the battle of Iwo Jima as told by the Japanese who fought in the battle.
This movie come from award-winning director Clint Eastwood and has been hailed by many as an instant classic and
one of the all-time great war movies. This movie is a fallow-up (not sequel) to Eastwood's other successful war movie, Flags of Our Fathers.
"Nominated for 4 Academy Awards including Best Picture, Clint Eastwood's Letters from Iwo Jima tells the untold story of the Japanese soldiers who defended their homeland against invading American forces during World War II. With little defense other than sheer will and the volcanic rock of Iwo Jima itself, the unprecedented tactics of General Tadamichi Kuribayashi (Ken Watanabe, The Last Samurai) and his men transform what was predicted to be a swift defeat into nearly 40 days of heroic and resourceful combat. Their sacrifices, struggles, courage and compassion live on in the taut, gripping film Rolling Stone calls "unique and unforgettable." It is the powerful companion piece to Flags of Our Fathers."
Epic Movie
"From 2 of the 6 writers of Scary Movie" it somewhat proudly displays on the box. Epic movie comes from the same line as all four of the Scary Movies as
well as Date Movie which was released in 2006. Epic movie goes in a new direction for this franchise, which has already tackled scary and romantic movies.
This time they attempt to make fun of blockbuster movies that have overwhlming popularity.
"The hilarious hi-jinks begin when a hapless group of orphans from curious backgrounds come together to embark on an adventure that takes them to a special chocolate factory where they fall into an enchanted wardrobe and wind-up in a magical land. Here, hilarity ensues when the bungling bunch run into a colorful collection of characters including a flamboyant pirate and a gang of wizardry-apprentices who they join forces with to overthrow the wicked White Bitch of Gnarnia."
