Long Grove Strawberry Fest in the Chicago Area

Fresh, juicy red strawberries are a true delights of summer. Fresh strawberries have a wonderful flavor, when picked at the peak of their seasons. To celebrate the season of the strawberry, take a trip to beautiful Long Grove, Illinois.

Historic Long Grove, Illinois will be holding their 25 Annual Strawberry Festival on June 22, 23 & 24 in 2007. The event is a great place to spend the day with family and friends. There are numerous shops to visit, historic buildings to see, Kids' games, a Brat Tent, Car Shows and strawberry treats to taste.

The free festival draws nearly 50,000 visitors to the historic village. The outdoor festival is considered one of the premier outdoor festivals in the Chicago area. Long Grove is a northwest suburb of Chicago, located north of the Woodfield area in Schaumburg.

The festival features "berry wonderful strawberry-filled and inspired treats", including chocolate covered strawberries, fruits smoothies, ice creams, strawberry donuts, baked goods and farm fresh strawberries.

Entertainment will take place one two stages, as well as throughout the village. There will be a classic car show. The shops of Long Grove will feature strawberry-related activities.

The Strawberry Jam Kids' Expo will be held in Big Top Tent in the heart of town The Jam Kids' Expo will offer children's' entertainment, mascots, balloon artists and Janice the Face Painter. Admission to the tent is free.

There will be an Antique Car Show sponsored by The Lions Club on Saturday, June 24. The Car Show will be held on Towner Green on the north end of town. The exhibiting cars are by invitation only.

TJ Klassics will offers a Car Show on Sunday.

There will be a Beer and Brat tent with refreshments, sponsored by the Lions Club.

Sponsors of the festival will have booths with prizes, give-aways and games; Sponsors include Hinckley Springs Water, Buffalo Grove Dominick's - The Fresh Store, Midwest Bank and Trust Company, Allstate Insurance and The Daily Herald Suburban Newspaper.
