Let's compare Red Bull to Chaser 5-Hour Energy Shot to decide which is the best tasting, most effective and best value for your money.
-- History of the Energy Drink --
Lipovitan was the original energy drink sold in Japan that inspired Chaleo Yoovidhya, a Thai businessman, to formulate Krating Daeng (Thai for Red Bull), a Thai version of the Japanese energy drink. Krating Daeng sponsorshed Thai boxing matches, and used the logo of two red bulls charging each other to market their energy drink.
Dietrich Mateschitz, an Austrian businessman visited Thailand in 1982 and discovered that the Thai energy drink helped him recover from jet lag. From 1984 to 1987 Mateschitz worked on the Austrian version, which is carbonated and not as sweet as the original Thai recipe. Both Mateschitz and Yoovidhya partnered in the new Red Bull product.
Red Bull first introduced the drink to the Austrian market in 1987 but Red Bull wasn't available in the United States for another ten years until 1997. Red Bull is the market leader in energy drinks. The new Red Bull product has been very successful. Red Bull has 47% of the U.S. market. This is more market share than any other energy drink competitor. Red Bull has saturated the American market and is available at more locations than any other energy drink. They can be purchased at supermarkets, convenience stores and even bike and sports shops. Truckers are big energy drinker fans because they need that energy boost to help keep them awake and alert on their long drives of many hours.
