When going on a beach vacation, the first thing that anyone thinks about is where they will be staying. For the majority of all beach vacation spots you will have your option of three types of lodgings, or rental properties; hotels, condos and beach houses. Each type of rental property has it's advantages and disadvantages. In this article we will discuss the pros and cons of each rental type and how you can choose the right beach rental for your family during your beach vacation.

Choosing Hotel Rooms for Your Beach Vacation:

Advantages- A few advantages to using a hotel room for your beach vacation are room service, housekeeping and usually internet access. When staying in a hotel room it's very easy just to call up room service for dinner or housekeeping for extra towels. When you go out to spend the day on the beach you will always come back to a freshly made room with clean towels. If you have problems you simply call up the front desk and complain until someone rushes right up to correct the problem.

This is a helpful article. Beach vacations require cottages in my opinion - just the feel is right!

Nice overview. You've given me new reason to look better at condos as an option (in that "someday" we ever take a vacation!). We've actually been able to find some really dirt cheap beach/lake houses that were decent if they weren't right on a tourist trap beach.

This has a lot of great information! When I stay in a hotel I make it a point to tell the front desk that I don't want housekeeping coming to my room. I even have them write it down and type it into the computer. You never know what will be stolen while you're gone.

Yep Yep. Good article. I've tried all of these, and find I prefer the hotel with a kitchenette. The last thing I personally want to do on vacation is clean ;)
