As the night begins to fall, the fear of the unknown starts to flare inside of me
Not sure what will happen or what time it may be

Feeling and being so tired, yet knowing it's not safe to sleep
Trying to stay awake and my eyes wide open to watch
My ears free from any noise that from danger they may keep

Seems, though, things happen when it's least expected
Waiting, watching, listening for anything-everything
Then all of the sudden, my ears hear things I wish, in ways, couldn't be detected

Wanting to believe what I'm hearing is nothing more than my imagination
Yet knowing in my heart what I' hearing is as real as anything could be
As the night falls, such unsafe, scared feelings overcome me and make me wonder how soon I'll meet God and end up at my final destination
