Need my numbers.
Come, numb the sting, the noise.
Or scream until my ears reverberate with senselessness.
Blank.
Passion unwoven
with 1, 2, 3, 4. . .
mathematics mask emotion,
or help to ignore.
Forward motion,
merry marathon.
On and on and never going back-- now alive--
5.
6, 7, I can even count the clouds as they crumble
down, but never back,
pressing on and on and on 8, 9
nevermind.
My miles a-head, smiles ahead?
And miles to go before I never sleep.
And miles to go on, cold. . .
