1. KID NATION - CBS (Wednesday at 8 Eastern)
This is a very fresh idea that could be controversial. Several children ages 8-14 will be dropped into a New Mexico ghost town to create a new society without adults. This sounds so bizarre that I can't wait to see it. Apparently, the kids can leave if they want to, and each episode will result in the children voting to give a reward to one of the group. Despite these positive strokes, I don't think I would let my kid go on a show like this, and I'm interested to hear about the parents who did.
2 - BIG SHOTS - ABC (Thursday at 10)
This drama about four high-powered CEOs looks like a male version of Desperate Housewives, but that's not a bad thing. Michael Vartan, Dylan McDermott, Josh Malina and Christopher Titus rely on each other as they battle business rivals and deal with their romantic travails. Big Shots will air right after Grey's Anatomy, so will find an audience.
3 - SEARCH for the NEXT GREAT AMERICAN BAND - Fox (Friday at 8)
This seems like such an obvious idea (an American Idol for bands) that it's amazing they didn't think of this sooner. Any musical style is allowed, so it should make for a good variety show each week. It will also be interesting to see the interaction among the members of each band. I can see this becoming a big hit for several seasons.
4 - DIRTY SEXY MONEY - ABC (Wednesday at 10)
With that title, you know ABC want this show to get noticed. The network is comparing this show to Dallas and Dynasty. An idealistic lawyer starts to work for the unscrupulous, powerful Darling family and must question his values and actions. This show has a big-league cast, including William Baldwin, Peter Krause, Jill Clayburgh and the outstanding Donald Sutherland.
5 - MOONLIGHT - CBS (Friday at 9)
Cavemen is a new fall show coming to ABC. It's a comedy about cavemen living in modern-day Atlanta.
