Many of you probably know people who are always making goals that they never achieve such as, "I want to lose weight," or "I want to become more healthy." Some of the most popular goals are to, "lose weight," "gain muscle," or "get in shape." Regardless, if your goals sounded similar to these, I have a tip to share with you that will help make the road to your goals a little bit easier. Many people stumble into the gym without a clue to what they are going to do. They walk in, bench a couple sets, maybe do some bicep curls, then pick out a couple other exercises to finish off their workout with, then they leave. These same people then wonder why they see no results. They key to progress is to, have a workout plan and follow through with it. If you wish, you can keep a notebook or a journal and record your progress in that so you will have a record of your improvement.

Finding a workout plan is essential, because you must know what you are going to do when you arrive at the gym. If you do not already have a workout plan in mind, I suggest that you visit this link, Workout Plans and pick one there that fits your needs. Once you find a plan, FOLLOW IT THROUGH, don't follow it for a week or two and decide that you want to switch to another one, unless you feel that you are making absolutely no progress, then you can pick another program to try.

In order to improve and make gains, your training must be progressive in some manner. You can make progress 3 different ways:

Do more weight than the previous session

Do more reps with the same weight

Takeaways
  • Many people make fitness goals that they don't follow through.
  • There are techniques and tactics that you can use to help keep motivated to achieve your goals.
  • Keeping a workout journal or log is a great motivator.
