There are those who will rave about finding love on MySpace. Really? Not that I'm necessarily a cynic, but I am definitely at least a little skeptical. Hmmm, wonder why?

About a year and a half ago, I joined MySpace. I joined because my 17 year old daughter had joined and it seemed a way to keep tabs on her. I filled out my profile and voila! I was ready to make friends. I did a search and realized that MySpace was being used as a dating tool much like online dating/personals sites. What was more, there were so many men in my area! I thought I'd found a gold mine! In my previous experience, there weren't many men in my geographical area. MySpace seemed like a windfall! Woohoo! I started adding friends. Male friends, mostly younger, just the kind I liked!

A few months went by. Out of boredom I was doing yet another search and found a very, very hot man about an hour and a half away. I sent off my friend request and was thrilled when he accepted. It was even more thrilling when we began to talk on IM on a daily basis. A few conversations and we set up our first date. It was awesome! He was awesome! For about a week. Then I drove to see him one Monday evening. Another great evening I thought. He even called me on my way home to make weekend plans. Next morning I got a "Dear Lisa" email from him and had been deleted from his friends list. What?

Next, a hot Marine recruiter who, after two fabulous dates, he decided he couldn't stand being so far away from his daughter who lives with her mom in California. He told his CO he wanted out. That was in May. He was here until December. I never saw him again.

After that, the EUA (emotionally unavailable) recently divorced guy who didn't want a relationship but damn sure enjoyed the benefits it brought with it. Right up until he left me for a bisexual wiccan five days after my brother's funeral in August.

Recently there was the hot cowboy who got so freaked out during our first date that he left me at a table with his buddies while he wandered around the bar aimlessly. Then the village idiot who I've been out with three times. He emails about once a week to see if I'm still alive & interested. Then poofs into thin air for another week or so.

lol... I have a Myspace story too.. I think it's great to keep in touch with your friends... and I found a lot of old friends that I lost in touch with but I am not sure about dating.. unless you are looking for a dating disasters.. but it will give you stop to write about I suppose. Maybe you can do an article on all these half naked women on Myspace.
