On the third Sunday of June, we will celebrate an annual tradition of honoring one of the most important people in our lives. This special occasion that I am speaking of is Father's Day. While Father's Day doesn't get the same amount of attention that Mother's Day does, it is still a special day to honor our Fathers.

With Father's Day quickly approaching in less than a month, picking out the right gift for your father can be a tough task. It seems easier to pick out a gift for your mother than it is your father. With Mother's day, gifts like flowers, cards, candy, and jewelry are some common ideas for gifts. It is a little harder to decide on a gift for dad unless you give him a boring neck tie. Most fathers will probably not appreciate a dozen roses or a diamond necklace like a mother does. I thought I would give you some gift ideas for father's day from a father's point of view. Here are some few ideas.
Electronics Gifts

As a father myself, I know that a lot of us fathers love gadgets and electronic gizmo's. If your father is very active and exercises, a MP3 player could be a great gift idea. Apple's iPod and Microsoft's Zune are very popular portable audio devices that will make a great gift.

If you father is a sports fan and you have the money to spend, plasma and LCD televisions are very popular gifts for Fathers Day. You can't beat the view and experience of watching a sporting event in HDTV. It seems like you are at the game in person. Tickets to a local sporting event would be a great and less expensive present as well.

Hobby Related Gifts

Another great way to figure out a gift idea for your father is to think about what hobbies he enjoys. If you father is an avid fisherman, you could buy him a new fishing rod as a gift or various other fishing accessories. If your father loves to golf, buy him a round of golf at his favorite course or other golfing accessories as a gift.
