Take away the drugs, sex, and violence, namely everything that generally sells a show, and you've still got a hard-hitting drama that's both witty and charming in the new FX series, The Riches. Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver star in this acclaimed FX original series, as Wayne and Dahlia Malloy. Newcomers Noel Fisher, Shannon Woodward, and Aidan Mitchell, star as their children Cael, Di Di, and Sam, respectively.

Wayne and Dahlia belong to a group called the Travelers, a band of Irish gypsies who roam the countryside in their old Recreational Vehicles, performing small cons and heists. These Travelers live off of the land and whatever they can steal, and live off of the radar. They have no addresses, no social security numbers, and, in essence, do not actually exist.

When Wayne and Dahlia are told that Di Di must marry a fellow Traveler named Ken Dannegan (played by Nate Mooney), a boy who suffered brain damage due to a fever in his child-hood, they decide to pack their family into the RV and leave the Travelers. Wayne empties the group's "bank" in the middle of the night, and walks away with over $20,000. Convinced that the Malloys have something up their sleeve, another couple follows them away from the camp. In a high-speed pursuit between two RVs that leaves you wondering how these people are never seen by a cop, the couple chasing the Malloys runs a town car off the road and down into a ditch.

When Wayne and Dahlia stop to investigate the crash after the other RV has fled the scene, they find that the occupants are dead. The dead couple are Doug and Cherien Rich, an attorney and his wife on their way to the posh community of Eden Falls, nestled in the suburbs of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Because Doug and Cherien are unknown quantities in Eden Falls, due to the fact that all real estate transactions were made over the internet, Wayne makes the choice to try and give his family a better chance at a normal life and decides to "steal" the American dream.
